Kathy first began her Yoga/Ayurveda journey as a student and "family healer”. Her love of these two practices naturally evolved into becoming a professional practitioner. Kathy empowers her clients to reconnect with their "true nature" through movement, breath, nature and the arts. She shares these ancient practices for modern living enabling every individual to experience their inherent sense of clarity, calm and vitality. Her style is simple, do-able and is imbued with a sense of ease and humor…fun and functional, peaceful and practical.
Kathy Cass MA, BC-DMT, NCC, C-IAYT, CAHC, AYT-NAMA is a board-certified dance/movement therapist, nationally certified counselor, certified yoga therapist and board certified ayurvedic health counselor and ayurvedic yoga therapist. She is co-author of the creative movement and Yoga curriculum and training program “Dance For All” through UCLArts and Healing Initiative.
Kathy earned her MA degree in Dance/Movement therapy from New York University and has over 35 years experience as a body/mind wellness practitioner, trainer and educator. She has served seniors, adults with injuries or/or chronic diseases, cancer survivors, parents and kids, children with special needs, developmentally disabled teens and adults, caregivers and anyone seeking movement and wellness lifestyle practices for stress reduction, well-being, and fun.
She has been a guest lecturer at UCLA, Scripps College, and CMER at Loyola Marymount University. Kathy is currently Adjunct Assistant Professor at El Camino Community College and Santa Monica College, Emeritus Division. She is advisor, founding and core faculty for the UCLArts and Healing Social Emotional Arts (SEA) and SEA on a Shoestring Programs.
Kathy maintains a private practice in Yoga Therapy, Ayurvedic Wellness Counseling and Consulting/Mentoring based in Santa Monica, CA.
